I think it would be a really great feature to have some type of notification be able to go out to those who request it that notifies them when someone has created/joined a room and are looking for others to sign with. The video chat feature is really great if you know that others are on. The problem with the iteration that it is now is that people need to know that there are people available to sign with and the current system requires a bit of fate or planning to ensure that you are in the lobby at the same time. Could you look into creating a system whereby a text or email notification is sent out to those that subscribe so that they will be notified when someone is looking for others to sign with.

Well, when i was younger I found out that I am hard of hearing In my left ear since my brother decided to jam my ear with a quetip. And I started watching this amazing new show called switched at birth. And I have always wanted to learn sign language, since I'm hard of hearing as is, I use alot of body language already. So my daughter and I have actually started picking up on it very well and I'm def interested in learning more.

Hi. My name is Ali. I’m looking for a video chat friend. I’m learning sign language and I learned the alphabet in second grade. I know how to sign sentences a little but I’d like to learn more and I also want to make friends. If someone could contact me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hello everyone! My name is Michael and I’m currently a senior at UNCW in North Carolina. I have been learning ASL for quite a bit and would love to expand my knowledge and learn more about the language and the culture as well! This Fall I will graduate with a Bachelor’s in Music Technology, but will begin to partake in an interpreting program at the time I will finish my Bachelor’s. I have this motivational drive to improve and what more than to do that on here! It’s great to meet you all! 😄

Hi Claire! Good for you! So so brave and just...really I think that what you are doing is amazing. If you want to practice ASL I would love to do that. I really need the practice. I have not used sign for 15 years and Im just getting back into it and I want to take and then pass (of course!) The interpreter test! Please let me know if you are interested in practicing via video.

Hi, Jason! My name is Joy and I would love a pal to practice with! I live in the great city of Austin, Texas and work as a teacher. I need to seriously improve my signing for my work. Although ideally, we would also have someone from the Deaf community with us, I am certain that there would be great value in the 2 of us signing together, novices we may be. Now I am going to attempt to record something like this in a video for you. Hope to hear from you soon... Joy Ok, guess who! So i went to record this (and I recorded a video the other day on this computer, so I know it works), and it told me that my camera and microphone were blocked and that I need to unblock them. But i cannot figure out how! Can you help?

This is the perfect place to post this! In my experience, the ILY handshape version is more friendly and succinct, good for goodbyes to friends or lovers(works for groups too). The I, Love, You version is more emotive, and can be used more emphatically. I would use it for emphasis or if you're trying to make a stronger point(body movement and facial expression are vital). Hope this helps!

I use the first version. The second version looks like it might actually come from hearing people. It's a thing we do when we're hoping for something. Usually accompanied with someone saying something like, "Fingers crossed, I hope I get that job."

I only recently began learning ASL, since April, 2018. I have found the lessons with Meredith very helpful. She also gives a side view, which helps to see the signs from a different angle. >>> https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsuBAbMlPGJ95w3mwhz-30g

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that might be the sign for PHARMACY. You signed MEDICINE + STORE. So I'm guessing that means PHARMACY. I don't know the context of the conversation. But that would be my guess.
