Hi Daron, 

You mentioned that these chat rooms aren't the greatest.   These are the only chat rooms I've been in.  What do the other chat rooms have to offer?   I just got skype and chatted with my daughter once.  I signed just as poorly in skype as I do in these chat rooms.

My son had surgery last week.  I was sick.  It’s been a month since I’ve signed.  You sign late (at night), so I’ll log in late tonight or tomorrow night.   Hope to see you then.

If either of you guys are interested in signing - I'm a definite NEWBIE.  I sign and finger slow and read them even slower. 

I'll probably be checking in around 9 or 10 tomorrow night to see if you want to chat.  I'm gonna have to check out LifePrint.  If we do the same lessons at the same time - it would be great for us to practice together.  

You da man!  Thanx for pointing out the four choices for BECAUSE.  You've definitely demonstrated the difference between the 4th because and forget.

As I am getting ready to go to work - it occurred to me.   The word was BECAUSE. 

According to HANDSPEAK.com, FORGET and BECAUSE have the same sign.   I have noticed that there are a few other signs on HANDSPEAK.com that are different than I learned on www.signlanguage101.com   I wonder if this is a mistake, or a dialect difference or something else.

Any thoughts?

I was looking for a sign the other day and the result was the exact same sign as the sign for FORGET.  I can't remember what sign I was looking up.  Any ideas?

• In the first video, It looked like you were finger spelling the word "lisapoint".   Did I misread?  If not, what does that mean?
• Would you please interpret the 2nd video.  I really could not understand it at all.

Thanx - I misread "D" as an "L".  They don't call me newbie for nothing.  The 2nd video is over my head - but I'm still learning.  I appreciate the help!

If you are interested - go to the video chat room and leave a message.  I'll respond.   I usually start my own chat room and limit it to 2 people because I have a hard enough time chatting with 1 person.  Add a second person and I am completely lost.

Welcome to the group.  I lived in Lawrence for about 10 years and my daughter graduated from KU about 5 years ago.  I love the area.

I'd love to chat but I am an absolute infant when in comes to ASL.  I'd be mu-u-uch to slow for you.   So far, I've just been signing with myself and a couple of people on this site.  I'm going to get with a group next week I hope to start signing face-to-face with them to build up to a kindergarten level. 

Anyway - I just wanted to welcome you.

I’d like to practice ASL with you.  What is your best time to practice?  Morning? Night?  Which?  I work nights until Friday

I can also see I need to adjust my camera.  Hopefully after I get a chance to sign with someone a little more often, I will become a little more fluent.

I'm a new guy on the block.   Is there any way to see who is currently logged in?

If I want to have a Video Chat with someone - I go to the Video Chat Room and type a message on the left stating that I am currently in a chat room, then I get in a chat room for beginners.  Is this the best way????

Also - my email seems to get full as soon as I send 1 (one) message.  Is this normal.
