  1. Good afternoon. As many of us, I'm snooping around for online practice groups. Unfortunately zoom / online works ideally for many of us, but as Covid wanes and groups are ending in favor of in-person, we are eager to hear about new groups (beyond those currently offered on Meetup.com (most of us belong to the main groups on there already)). Sometimes opportunities are shared in smaller communities, so worth asking as our regular ones sadly decline. It can be tricky with time zone differences, but it can't hurt to ask! Looking for conversation / discussion (vs. games or classes), primarily intermediate and above (all levels are okay as well, as I'm happy to spread the word for anyone in the same boat). Thank you for any ideas, links, direction etc!
  2. Hello, my name is Kleen, I am 23. I have two semesters left of my community college to receive my French Associate of Arts undergraduate degree in 2022. I study many languages including French (obviously), ASL, Japanese, Korean and am starting Mandarin this coming fall 2021. Languages are something I enjoy, including their cultures and would like to incorporate them into my life by finding friendships and partnerships with people alike. I am, in a way, desperate for a person near my age or a group who are open to helping each other with improving our signing since I am unable to find local gigs to meet people with the same interest. My ASL is still very basic and I have the most issue with forming sentences (verb, subject, adjective...what goes where) As friends, your job isn't to teach me, but to aid our development while enjoying the company of another. As learning partners, we may make mistakes as we improve our skills, but at least we can learn from it and move forward. I have Telegram amd Skype which works wonderfully with ASL chats.
  3. If you know how to communicate in sign language(s), you can help with this project by joining us on virtual conference sessions with a few other signers for 5 mins. Each session will be recorded for machine training and development purposes. You will get a $100 for each completed session. Each participant can participate in up to 33 sessions. To participate, please click here.
