  1. Hi! My name is Jasmine, and I'm 17 years old. I have been studying ASL for a little bit, but didn't retain much. I have been watching Bill Vicars and Meredith ASL trying to learn some more ASL, but I learn better if I have someone to have a conversation with. I would prefer it if you were 15-17 years old, so it would be more relatable for the both of us.

Hello. I live in the Pacific Time Zone and would like to meet some other ASL learners so we can help each other learn and stay motivated to learn ASL. I hope you can join me for my event today at 1:00 pm PST!
  3. I would appreciate any help available to finish out my ASL 1 class and get better at communicating easily before moving on to ASL 2 next school year.
  4. Hello everyone! I just recently joined this forum thinking it might be a great way to get better at ASL. I took a few basic ASL courses years ago in college, but never followed through with interpreting aspirations (cause of, ya know, life). After years of thinking about the missed opportunity, I put my foot down and now trying to go back to school for interpreting. I am still a beginner, but love learning and experiencing both the language and Deaf culture. I hope to get to signing with you all at some point. Until then, keep on keepin' on and stay safe out there 🤘
  5. Hello! my name is Rayven and I'm majoring in ASL interpretation/translation! I would love to chat and practice with y'all! Look forward to meeting you.
  6. I just joined this today. I am taking ASL 1 online for school, and I would like to practice my conversation skills and assignment topics if anyone is available anytime soon and would be willing to help me.
  7. Hello everyone! My name is Tara and I am from California. I am a college student who is taking ASL as my second language requirement. It's nearing the end of my second year, and as the summer approaches, I am scared that I will forget my signs! ASL is a beautiful language so I came here to make sure I retain my knowledge and get better at conversation! I only have a year of experience with ASL but I am very eager to learn and practice with others, no matter your skill level. Please message me if you would like to chat! I am in my final weeks of college so I won't be available for the next couple weeks but I will be free all summer! Maybe around mid June so I'd like to meet as many of you as possible so I can practice with many different signing styles. Looking forward to getting to know you all! P.S. -- I will have my "oral" exam for ASL in a couple weeks so if any of you want to help me practice, I would be very grateful!
  8. Hi! I am looking for a friend or two to practice with! I don't want to lose my ASL over the summer!
  9. Hello to everyone!, I am Robert Buenning from Arkansas. Here learning ASL due to the fact of having Meniere's Syndrome. I can still hear, but I felt the need to start learning ASL just in case My hearing goes bad. So I am here to make friends, learn, and laugh with each of you. I am a beginner, but I am looking forward to getting better. I ask you to bare with my awkward signing as I improve, and make new friends.
  10. Hi everybody, my name is Damien, I am French and started to learn ASL alone with Professor Bill Vicars' video. (Is this French guy lost?) Well nope, I hope to learn more about Deaf/ Hard-Of-Hearing Culture even though I am hearing. I can't only learn by heart, I am eager to live/use this language . Keep in mind [is this the right word??] the time gap between France and where you live, but I hope it won't stop us from learning together... Have a nice day and maybe see you soon !!!
  11. Hi! I'm looking to practice ASL. I am hearing and this is my first semester taking ASL. I am a Music Therapy major, though I am considering being an ASL translator on the side. ASL is my "10,000 hours", so I plan on practicing as much as I can. I'll be here occasionally just sitting in a chat room and anyone can join while I'm here! I live in California, so I'm on Pacific time. Don't be afraid to jump in if you see me!
