Looking for Practice Partners and Possible Friends

Hello, my name is Kleen, I am 23. I have two semesters left of my community college to receive my French Associate of Arts undergraduate degree in 2022. I study many languages including French (obviously), ASL, Japanese, Korean and am starting Mandarin this coming fall 2021. Languages are something I enjoy, including their cultures and would like to incorporate them into my life by finding friendships and partnerships with people alike.

I am, in a way, desperate for a person near my age or a group who are open to helping each other with improving our signing since I am unable to find local gigs to meet people with the same interest. My ASL is still very basic and I have the most issue with forming sentences (verb, subject, adjective...what goes where) As friends, your job isn't to teach me, but to aid our development while enjoying the company of another. As learning partners, we may make mistakes as we improve our skills, but at least we can learn from it and move forward.

I have Telegram amd Skype which works wonderfully with ASL chats.

Hello All!!! My name is Kim, and I am just starting out on my ASL learning journey. I have always been pulled to learn ASL. I am not hearing impaired and do not know anyone personally who is, however I desire to connect with all and ASL I feel is my calling. I desire to learn, advocate and fully immerse my self in the culture in hopes of building true friendships and alliances.

Be inspired and inspire!

xoxo KIM 💜

    • Hi I am taking ASL through our local community college on zoom. The teacher suggested we practice receptive ASL. Seems most in our class can sign but can't read it. I am playing the game and see there are amazing scores. They must have it on max speed and no mistakes? He told us to try to figure out the word instead of individual letters. I'm finding that really hard. What is your average score? When I increase the speed I freeze. I seem to get stuck on f and x.  Grateful for this website t
    • Hi Ryan, I also started to learn ASL to expland my knowlege and be able to communicate with more people. I'm a 21 year old female college student currently enrolled in a two year ASL training program, I have yet to be certified and am coming to the end of my semester soon, we should video chat, you could show me some of your BSL.  -Best, Jela
    • Hello Ryan, my name is Carleigh, and I am currently in my second ASL class at a community college. I would love to learn about some of BSL and how learning that has been for you. I am an 18-year-old female in my final semester in high school. I started taking sign this year and am hoping to either minor in it or major in it in college.
    • Hiya everyone! I've decided to learn ASL in order to expand the access I have to the worldwide Deaf/hard-of-hearing community. I'm a 21-year-old male living in the UK and have studied BSL for the last three years while also using it in the care sector supporting deaf/blind clients. I am very aware of how the two deaf cultures differ across the Atlantic and want to form first-hand connections with anyone fluent in/learning ASL to broaden my knowledge on any topic relating the signing community in
