Hey, my name is Abbie i am 21 and i am going into the police academy. I have finished 3 semesters of ASL. I would love to keep my skills sharp by signing with others who know ASL and getting to know more hand shapes and other ASL styles.

Hello

I am new to here and I have been looking for someone to video chat/tutor to help me improve my skills. I have an auditory processing disorder ( I read lips to make up for what I cannot hear) and I am gradually losing my hearing so I am trying to learn ASL as soon as possible. I have been teaching myself for about a year now, and I know fingerspelling, numbers, and basic phrases. Please. Please. PLEASE, message me back. Thanks!

Hi guys! My name is Maggie and I'm currently starting my 4th semester of ASL and finishing up my associates degree in it! I too need to keep up with signing, and expand my knowledge by signing with more people! I still feel like my signing is pretty basic, but I will slow down if needed. You can email me at: [email protected] , and maybe we can all accommodate a time every week to chat and practice for a little while? Let me know what you think!

    • A lovely suprise for this couple when they realized that the stewardess on their Philippine Airlines flight could sign! Wouldn't it be wonderful to see more of this kind of inclusion everywhere. Great customer service.
    • Welcome. Nice to see you here.
    • Hello my name is Biscelia I am learning sign and would love to meet new friends to practice with. I am not deaf but I love the deaf community and I have a deaf sister but she lives in Georgia.  I have taken a asl class here and plan on going back in july. 😊
    • Great practice.  We can all help.  First little bit of advice.  The sign for MAKE in ASL does not work the way it does in English.  MAKE in ASL is literally to create something. So for making friends you would want to sign something like FRIENDS ME WANT NEW. You can use MEET, FIND, ACQUIRE.  Just not MAKE.  Make is an English word that has about 10 different uses in English.  In sign, the sign for make is literally to create something.
