Using ASL in a Project

Hello! I'm sorry if this is not the right forum for this question. I wasn't sure where it would go best!

I am an artist currently working on a comic. One of the characters is not deaf but rather is unable to speak, and he communicates via sign language. Because a comic is a visual but non-moving medium, I'm trying to figure out the best way to show this. My thoughts right now is to do a couple of panels of him signing main ideas and providing a text translation, since I know it would be impractical to show the entire sentence every time he speaks (and I also do not know sign language besides fingerspelling and a few key words).

I know this is a rather niche question, but I thought it would be better to ask, as I am not part of a community that uses sign language to communicate, nor do I know anyone who does IRL.

    • When searching for a good calculator app, specifically one that can handle calculations like the pythagorean theorem calculator angle https://calculatorprofessional.com/pythagorean-theorem-calculator, look for apps with high user ratings and robust features. Read reviews to see if other users mention its accuracy and usability for trigonometric calculations. This approach will help you find a reliable and user-friendly Pythagorean theorem calculator for angles.
    • Hi! I just started ASL today with great interest. As of now, I only know the basics including the alphabets, numbers 1-20, a few colors, and pronouns. Although I will only be learning on my free time, I still hope that I will be able to make friends here and learn together with them! 💙
