Hi everyone! I'm a former Teacher of the Deaf from SC. I moved to NC in January and took a new job as a special education teacher. I only had one student I could sign with this past year, and I really don't want to lose all the skills I had from before. I would be willing to chat with anyone. I'm no expert, but any practice is good practice! 😁

I recently retired from teaching braille.  Am taking an ASL class and enjoying it.  Just need more opportunities to practice.  Looking forward to checking out this site and finding ways to practice.  So far enjoying the fingerspelling game.  I am amazed that it is possible to read 30 words or more in such a short period of time from seeing all the names on the leaderboard!  I am at 16!  I have a long way to go!

Unlike braille, where reading braille is far easier than writing braille, it seems with ASL it is easier to sign or finger spell to someone than it is to interpret what they are signing or fingerspelling to you.  It will be refreshing to be on the other side of the teaching/learning relationship!

    • When searching for a good calculator app, specifically one that can handle calculations like the pythagorean theorem calculator angle https://calculatorprofessional.com/pythagorean-theorem-calculator, look for apps with high user ratings and robust features. Read reviews to see if other users mention its accuracy and usability for trigonometric calculations. This approach will help you find a reliable and user-friendly Pythagorean theorem calculator for angles.
    • Hi! I just started ASL today with great interest. As of now, I only know the basics including the alphabets, numbers 1-20, a few colors, and pronouns. Although I will only be learning on my free time, I still hope that I will be able to make friends here and learn together with them! 💙
    • Hey there, I'd be interested to chat and see if our levels match well for practicing together Message me!
    • I have not started learning yet, but am needing to get motivated to start! I have a hearing processing disorder and my Dr encouraged me to learn. I'd love new friends to learn with!
