If you had to choose only five classic items to get you through a full year of work (office meetings, casual Fridays, client lunches, the whole deal), what would you pick? No seasonal cheating—these five have to work in summer and winter with layering. My tentative list: a tailored blazer, dark wide-leg trousers, a silk shell top, a crewneck sweater, and a crisp white button-down. I feel like that covers most situations, but I'm already second-guessing myself. Would you swap the shell for a midi skirt? Ditch the sweater for a cardigan? For those who've actually lived with a capsule wardrobe built from classic women's clothing, how many pieces do you find is the real sweet spot? And what's the one 'extra' you always end up adding back in?

I just thought I'd drop in and mention that I joined a BSL Society that takes place in my university today. I came along to the drop in session and despite being quite nervous, I learned a thing or two and made a few friends. I recognised a lot of the beginner signing from the british-sign.co.uk course (level 1) I've been practicing. 

A funny small difference I noticed was the regional dialect - being in Scotland there's a few minor differences in how to sign place names, etc than in England. It's been so fun and interesting to learn about!

My name is Terence, and I am currently writing my Master's thesis in Media & Communication Management at Macromedia University Munich, Germany. As the child of Deaf parents and a fluent French Sign Language user, I am personally and academically committed to issues of accessibility and inclusion.
 
My thesis focuses on how advertising can become more inclusive for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) individuals. As part of my research, I am conducting qualitative interviews with Deaf individuals to understand their experiences with advertising, representation, and accessibility.
 
Would it be possible to connect me with someone from your community who would be willing to participate in a short, fully accessible interview (30–45 minutes, online)? Therefore, I would be happy to have interpretation services to support the conversation as I am not able to understand BSL.
 
I am struggling a bit to find someone speaking BSL, so I would be very grateful for your support or guidance on how best to proceed.

I learned BSL to level 2 a few years ago but didn't proceed to level 3 as the course was too expensive. I now realise that I'm unlikely to pick it up again and would like to sell the books I used whilst learning. Is that something I can do through this forum?

The Linguistics of British Sign Language by Rachel Sutton-Spence and Bencie Woll

The Dictionary of British Sign Language.

The books are all in excellent condition.
