Would anyone like to do some practice via Zoom? I'm free most of the evenings.

All ability welcome, I'm currently doing lvl2. 

I'm about to do my first exam where i will be introducing myself in BSL. Unfortunately, our teacher hasn't explained sentence structure very well, and although I've researched a lot online I'm worried I may be getting it all wrong !

I wondered if someone would be able to restructure my script below into BSL sentences so I can study and learn from it, it's quite long but I would really appreciate it. Many thanks guys!!

"Hello, my name is Ann. I am 27 years old. I work as a bartender. I am studying an MA in therapy. I live in Essex, it took me 30 mins by car to arrive here. I have a sister called Maya, she is 30 years old and lives in London with her husband. My parents also live in Essex. My dad's name is Jake, he is 58 years old. My mum's name is Leah, she is 54 years old. I have two pets, a cat called tom and a dog called Harry.

I love travelling, last week I went on holiday to Portugal for 5 days. It was sunny but windy. Last year I went to Japan, Vietnam and Thailand for 9 weeks, Japan was my favourite because of the food. In Vietnam, I took the bus a lot, my longest journey was 12 hours.

I love to sing, my favourite Genre is Jazz. I sometimes perform locally to earn some extra money. I also play the saxophone and piano as a hobby."

I'm new to bsl, and currently completing my level 1 & 2 bsl. I'm enjoying learning new signs everyday, but I don't get any opportunities to use them! 

Would anyone be interested in video calling once/twice a week for an hour to practice signed conversations?

i'm looking for someone who might be willing to have a conversation with me , just so i can get the practise in?

i'm not perfect and i am happy to take corrections too, i'm just looking for the practise!

how do you get round it?

I have just started to learn BSL and just over half way through the course. I am really enjoying it and would love to practice with a buddy. I can be quite flexible in days of the week and time. So, if anyone here is ambitious enough or looking for a buddy, I hope you will consider me. Thanks, Carole.

I'm hearing but I'm learning this because I've wanted to do it for years. I'm retired but have a part-time job in a shop and have two regular deaf customers who help me with learning bits and pieces.

I've just completed level 9 of this course and really need to get some practice in.

Can I ask, whilst communicating with others at this level, should I be using SSE or BSL. My friends/customers seem to use SSE whilst talking to me, but BSL when talking to each other.

SSE is much easier to understand I find.....What would you suggest please.

Does anyone know where to practice for the receptive exam, Level 4 (for Signature)?

I'm looking to further my BSL learning, completed Level 1 in Feb 2023 and was planning to do Level 2 this September, but the college has no BSL teacher!  Now I'm looking for practice buddies, call/ text me please 07920025786.

i am learning so that i can use it at work, i work in a zoo. 

i am learning on the british BSL course online and i am picking up lots of new signs however i struggle with forming sentences and signing in a conversation as i have no one to practice with.

I have just joined, and I am keen to learn BSL.

I am currently doing the 'Introducing British Sign Language' via british-sign.co.uk

I am keen to learn, and after the above course, I would like to enrol on a Level 1 BSL online programme, the trouble is, there are so many when I research, what one is 'the one?' 

Would also like to virtually meet up once a week to practice too.

I'm Pamela.   I'm currently trying to get myself back up to speed, having got to Level 3 BSL 10 years ago.  I think I'm back up to Level 1 going into Level 2, but I'm quite rusty.  I'm hoping there is someone on this site who is wiling to practice with me.  That was what was lacking before, so I never really got the chance to use BSL on a regular basis.  

I really want to use this in my work as a Voice/Accent/Text coach.  So if there is someone who like me, wants to get more confidence in signing and would like to practice, please get in touch.  We can arrange Zoom sessions to suit.
