Hej guys, I am Annika from Edinburgh, 36 years old and have been learning with books and YT, BSL Watchzone since few months. Doing Introduction since beginning of Feb and going to continue with Level 1 in August. I am studying with a Deaf Tutor at Deaf Action. Would be awesome to find other people from Edinburgh to meet up with and to get help here, keen on doing L2 and eventually L3 in near future if I can afford that. Other than that I like my two cats, I work for an Interpretation Service at NHS, I enjoy walking though nature, Outlander and Star Trek conventions, upcycling and cooking/eating non cruelty food.

Hi everyone. I started learning BSL because i became ill with Menier's disease, and was told i would become deaf, which i have but use hearing aids. I love BSL and have just finised level 3 woohoo.

Suffering with Menieres disease fro over 2 years, and now have moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears, and constant varying tinnitus. Ironically I began learning basic BSL 10 years ago during a night course, but gave it up when I moved a long way off. I struggle to hear low and high frequencies and have lost a lot of them completely. I need to be able to communicate and lip reading isn’t working for me. As Menieres is a progressive illness, I have no idea how long I have my limited hearing for now.
