Hi All, My name is Natasha and I am a deaf student at Durham University, studying Anthropology. From my experiences of deafness I have decided to take the opportunity to base my final year dissertation on social and medical perceptions on deafness, cochlear implantation and genetic testing. For this, I am hoping to gain input from other deaf people as well as from hearing people with relationships with deaf people (e.g. hearing parents of deaf children or hearing children of deaf adults). I am hoping to hear views from a range of deaf people, regardless of cochlear implantation, sign language use or deaf identity. I am posting here as I very much hope some of you might be able to assist me in collecting information. I have produced a short online questionnaire, which is easily accessible and should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete. All information will be kept completely anonymous and no identifying information will be published. I would really appreciate it if people would fill in the questionnaire.
