  1. Hi all 👋 I've been umming and ahhing about throwing myself in and learning BSL, and I can now proudly say that I've not long started my journey! (very early days and currently only 2 weeks in!) As I'm so new to it all right now I'm not too sure whether having someone to practice with would be the best thing (I could probably only sign certain colours and numbers to you haha!), but I'd absolutely like to be able to practice with some of you when I can to help build and embed my knowledged as I would through my course. I work for a Bank and work from home due to Covid so I don't tend to see anybody to be able to practice, so I'm super excited that I've found this group and can get to know some of you 🙂 Speak to you soon, Anna x
  2. Hey guys I'm Flic and I am 18 years old. I am hoping to study medicine at university soon and think it is so important to integrate more BSL into healthcare to insure it is entirely accesible to everyone and inclusive! I have only been learning for a couple weeks so am new to it all! but loving every moment so far. I would love to find someone to practice with who has alot of patience!
  3. Hi everyone! My name is Maya, and I'm learning BSL mainly because I've always thought it was a beautiful language, and now I have the time to dedicate learning it myself. I'm looking forward to being able to make new friends and connect with more people at work (I used to be a sales assistant....and then 2020 happened.) Take care and stay well everyone.
  4. Hi everyone! My name is Cerys and I am currently taking the introduction to BSL. I am really enjoying it! I have always been terrible at languages but this seems to be coming naturally to me, so I am excited to keep going! Does anyone know whether this course counts as Level 1 BSL? Thanks!
  5. Hi I am a newby. I started learning BSL with a friend during the first lockdown. I kind of let it slide when I went back to work, however I want to try and keep it up, and not be a quitter! The reason I started, is partially, that I've always wanted to learn sign language, and partially because I am a librarian working with the public and believe it is a good skill to have in that workplace. Afterall public libraries are meant to be for ALL people..
