Absolutely, Kevin. People affected by sensory impairments are often limted in the ways they can access their community, meaning one-to-one befriending can act as a real life-line for those individuals. BSL volunteers would allow us to support many more people in the community.
Been looking to learn BSL for a while now but never really had the courage to start as I thought it was beyond me
But my friend has hearing issues and a short course at college turned up and so a group of friends and I decided to start to learn it, both to help with our friend and also to increase ourt own knowledge.
Will look to carry on a little further in college and sign up for another course.
Good Afternoon
My name is Jon, I'm new to learning BSL, but really enjoying it and finding it both taxing and enjoyable in equal measures
Just finished the alphabet and numbers so pressing on with jobs and places next.
If anyone fancies a chat, please feel free to reply.... 😀
Im learning British Sign Language because I want to be able to communicate with all the children at my school. As a teaching assistant, I believe that every child should feel included and understood, regardless of their communication needs. Learning BSL will help me support students more effectively and create a more inclusive environment. Im really enjoying the journey so far and looking forward to developing my skills further!
