hello my name is Leighton and I use BSL but I want to learn more, the thing I love/hate about sign language is there is soo many sign for 1 thing but also if I never see that sign before it can get confuse me

Wow Mark - your signing was great - and that's after just two weeks!?
Your facial expressions looked super.

I'll admit I struggled with the speed of your sentence, but that's my problem.

Hello! So sorry - I got busy with work this week, but all is now sorted. Yes please let's try again! I even learnt travel words as we agreed! Could you do next Tuesday at 3.30pm? or Wed 11.30am? Sorry again for missing our last session.

      Hi everyone, I'm freya and I started learning BSL about a month ago. I've always thought that sign language was an important skill to learn. In schools, children are taught French, German and Spanish. These are useful subjects, but I never understood why sign wasn't taught. My reasoning for this was because most people in my class may never travel or meet someone who speaks one of those languages.       I'm turning 40yrs old this year and I have decided to change my career to train as a children's social worker. I am volunteering with Home Start to help and support families that need general support day to day, and I am learning new skills to support this.       Keep at it, Annie! Same as Stevel said; perseverance is the key People are all different, and also have different ways of learning, don't let it put you off! I am also a slow learner and do better at retaining information if I use it, so I may pick something up in a lesson but then it's gone by the time the assessment comes along, if I haven't continued to use it in between! Give yourself a break and go at your own pace, you will get there x

      Annie, Do not give up trying. I have just completed the course, I am 65 and my wife suffers with hearing loss and it is getting worse. Undertook this course to give us both a chance to learn new ways of communication. Just because others pick it up quicker does not mean that you will not succeed in learning. As a nurse you must remember how hard it can be to teach someone new, and how well they eventually become.  Well this is just the same persevere and you will get there. All the best.
