I am learning BSL because...

Recommended Posts

I have always had a lot of problems with my hearing and know that one day it may not be here so I would love to learn how to sign properly while I am still young enough to take it in and get good practice at it! My 5 year old daughter is also having some hearing issues and I would like to be able to know how to sign and then be able to teach her if it comes to that point. I feel it is a fantastic language and it should be taught much more widely. I feel it is a language that is more important than the likes of French, Spanish and German and should be taught at school the same as these other languages are.

These are my reasons for wanting to learn BSL 😊

Thanks for reading,

Jemma

Hi I’m Debbie,

I have always been interested in learning sign language but never thought I had the time. The lockdown has enabled me to try different things this being one to keep my brain active. I would like to think that I could go on to use this in a professional capacity at a later stage. My daughter is also learning for work so we can practice together over Skype which is great.

A few years later after that (I had been working in improving and mastering my English), and especially since I am moving to Scotland i
