Hi there, for a number of years I've always wanted to learn sign language. I've never had anyone in my family or circle of friends who need to sign, but I've always wondered, what if I meet someone who can only communicate through signing and I'm unable to communicate back, what if they need help and it's not obvious. I always felt that I should make an effort to learn sign. Last year, whilst on holiday in the Lake District, I met someone who signed, and somehow I managed to bumble my way through using facial expressions and pointing. I felt embarrassed but didn't want to ignore the gentleman through my inability to communicate. So here I am, attempting to learn the basics.
