I'm struggling to figure out how to reply to specific people and how this thread works.. but I've just joined and would love to have a practise buddy if anyone still needs one!
My knowledge is fairly minimal at the mo, so probably best match with other newbies
I'm learning BSL Level 1, with face to face lessons, my 101 exam is coming up really soon and i'm starting to struggle as I need more practice time.
Would anyone be willing to be a practice buddy with me over skype or FB messenger?
Usually you would just fingerspell. Sometimes areas (i.e. the south west, or, places clise to Bath) might have an actual sign, but this is likely to be regional and not always known by everyone in other parts of the country.
I am a university student at University of the West of Scotland studying my BA for Commercial Sound Production.
One of my projects I am putting on two live music events that will be multi-sensory for deaf people and hard of hearing. In order to get the approval for my project I need to get a few interviews put into my proposal as a case study, I'm hoping that some of you will be interested in this and if you could answer a few questions for me please?
Would audio visual software that reacts to the music be helpful/enjoyable?
Would a sign language interpreter be useful on the stage with the musicians or subtitles?
Would do you feel is missing from live music events?
What genres of music do you enjoy?
Thank you, any feedback would be helpful.
I'm Beatrice, Italian, 41 yo living in London. I am at BSL Level 2 and need to practice with someone at my same or higher level to make my signing quicker and smoother.
I live close to Canary Wharf and work nearby Victoria Station. I am free after work at 5:30 on Tuesdays and every other Thursay and some weekend days as well.
