What is the sign for 'Paramedic'?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have seen signs for Doctor, Nurse, Dentist, Ambulance, etc. but can't seem to find a definitive sign for Paramedic. I don't mind finger spelling to clarify my job, but it's a long word to spell and wonder if there's a more concise sign.

Thanks!

Hi there,

would the sign for ambulance (sirene) and then nurse (cross on outer aspect of non-dominant arm) not cover it? I know a paramedic is not just an 'ambulance nurse', but maybe it covers the meaning sufficiently? I'm a learner, so please don't take my word for gospel...

Best wishes,

Marijn

Hey,

A different take on the word.

According to google a Pandemic means "(of a disease) prevalent over a whole country or the world."

So my guess would be Virus + World and since I guess your talking about the coronavirus I would add Corona + Virus + World

Same I'm a learner too, just my thought.....

(Sign for Coronavirus taken from BBC- Dave the dog is worried about Coronavirus)

    • I suppose it's a cliche to say that I've always wanted to learn sign language, but never found the time. I also teach scuba diving in my spare time, and I'm hoping to make diving more accessible to those who are deaf or hard of hearing. I'm only a couple of lessons in but with a bit of practice I hope to be able to speak to you (in BSL) soon.
    • I’m Harriet, I’ve recently started learning BSL but I’ve been meaning to do so for years. I’m in uni studying psychology in order to be a therapist and I would love to learn this beautiful language in order to be able to help a wider range of people :)
    • Hi. I am looking to learn sing language. I tried to learn a few months ago, but life got in the way. This will be really useful to me I work with the public. I find that it is taking me a long time to get to grips with some of the signs. I am looking forward to meeting you all
    • Hello, I’ve been learning BSL for a few weeks now and I am really enjoying it.
    • Hi, I'm new to BSL and struggling to get things to stick. DO you find song signing a better learning platform than the online tutorials?  Thanks Michael
    • Hey peeps, I'm new to BSL and trying my hardest to retain the little I have learnt. I'm really looking forward to the journey ahead and meeting new people on here. I currently live in Lincolnshire (South) and I work within the Urgent and Emergency sector of the NHS as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. There are two passions I have which are healthcare and motorbikes. Hope to speak with some of you soon.
