Hello,

My name is Bethany and I'm 14, I just thought I"d say hi and show you what I've learnt. My parents (mostly my mum) know sign (but hers seems to be slightly different to what I'm learning 🤔☹️) and my mum used to sign/interpret for their church (about 15 years ago) so introduced makaton to me before I was old enough to talk, I've always been interested in learning it properly and am now learning it for my skills section of bronze award for DofE. I'm also learning Braille (which has no correlation to this but I thought I'd mention it) as one of my best friends is blind and having EDS myself I spend a lot of time in the disability building of my school, hopefully if a deaf or hearing impaired student arrives I can communicate with them as I don't think many others will/can. it wont let me video so I shall try later.

      Hi my name is Emma and I am learning BSL from Australia. I have completed my Diploma of Auslan (Australian Sign Language) and have started learning BSL. If anyone is not a complete beginner and would like to practice that would be great! Australia is approx 9 hours ahead of London time...so hopefully we can find a suitable time:)

      Hi, I am new to this forum. I am currently doing an online on-demand course along with a friend. I studied modern languages many years ago and am really interested to learn BSL - it is such an interesting and expressive language. I am also deaf in one ear (since early childhood) so am conscious that my hearing could worsen at some point.
