I've always tried to get into learning BSL, as I have a keen interest in languages, but this year have really started motivating myself more. No more excuses. While I was working in retail, there were a few customers who didn't speak English and as the only multilingual, I would always be the one translating. Until someone came in who was either hard of hearing or deaf and could only communicate in BSL and we were all at a loss. I feel that it is in line with my own personal goals for the society I want to live in to have a duty to learn how to be more accessible. An added bonus would be being able to communicate more with my cousin who is learning sign language to help with his communication difficulties due to autism.

      Hi, nice to be here! I am learning bsl because I work supporting students at college and wish to be able to communicate better. Also this is a fascinating language to learn and I am just really interested!

      Hi, I'm learning  BSL, it is something  I've  always  been interested  in learning  sign language partly because  my son struggles to communicate sometimes  due to his Autism. Now a young boy has joined  our church and he is deaf and learning  to sign, I would  like to help him feel welcome.
