Hi! I'm Keira! My dad has been suffering with hearing loss and tinnitus for the past few years, and it is getting worse rather than better. I've recruited my whole family to get a head start on learning BSL in case he does end up losing his hearing entirely. Even if he doesn't, it will make communicating a lot easier as it will hopefully remove the need for repetition when he is struggling to hear, particularly in loud places when he can't separate background and foreground speech. We also have our PADI diving licenses, and having BSL at our disposal underwater will be a useful tool!
