Well done everyone!

Recommended Posts

My name is Russell and I started learning BSL a couple of months ago. I had been living in Chelmsford but moved back to Norfolk to help a small BSL congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I had never done BSL before but could see that there was such a need in the community for more British signers. It is so rewarding, more so than other foreign languages of which I have learned one and a bit. The deaf community are so appreciative of people who try to learn BSL as they have felt isolated for so long. Well done to everyone here who is trying to make life better for these dear people. https://www.jw.org/bfi/ 🙂

    • Hello all, I'm a newbie to BSL, and looking forward to learning a new language.  I learned Makaton and was a teacher for children with SEN/D for a number of years. My grandmother taught me how to fingerspell when I was quite young- and its great to revise the skill. Brenna

I would like to be able to communicate better with any patients I have in the future who use BSL themselves. My children get taught some signing at school so I should also be learning so I can help them learn further.
