Hi newby introduction

Recommended Posts

My name is Clare and I'm learning BSL for two main reasons.

1) I have been interested in learning g sign language general for some time, but never got a round to it.

2) I work in a public library, and while we dont get that many deaf borrowers, we get some and also you can never assume anything Bout a person.

I would love to be able to provide a more inclusive service, rather than just reaching for paper and pen. Like others I've used lockdown as the perfect time to get started.

    • Hi! I’m Emily, I was a CoDa (child of deaf adult) between ages of 5 and 12 as we used BSL at home to communicate with my stepdad who was deaf.    I recently watched a show with a deaf actress in who used ASL and it reminded me that I know quite a lot of basic BSL but I want to brush up on my skills so I can effectively communicate with any BSL users I come across! It’s also a fun hobby ☺️
