      Learning ASL is a journey, and while I’m just starting out, my goal is to help those in medical settings who struggle with communication. My mother is hard of hearing, so I’m teaching her sign language as well. One day, I hope to become an ASL interpreter, though I know I have a long way to go.       A few years ago I found out my school system offered ASL so when I was old enough to take it I jumped at the opportunity. Since then I have fell head over heels for the language. I have been learning it for a few months now and am still pretty basic, but I think I may want to interpret when I am older.
