Hello! I’m learning ASL as my 2nd language, now as an adult. In high school and college many years ago, sign language was not considered as a valid 2nd language. I had worked with special needs children since grade school and had learned the basics and finger spelling. I really enjoy non verbal communication and really wanted to become proficient, but I was denied and had to take another direction to get credit for my degree. I couldn’t afford to take additional classes at the time. So now I’m using modern resources to teach myself. I’ve completed the app Lingvano and been attending local deaf events. I hope to meet others who want to practice sign and have fun silent conversations.
