  1. Hi Cass! My pronouns are he/him. I'm 54 years old and taking an ASL class in college. I'm game! I'm earning a BASW, and American Sign Language was an option to fulfill a college prerequisite. I can carry on an introductory conversation and count to 66. My vocabulary is expanding, but I don't have many opportunities to use ASL outside the classroom. I'm usually free on the weekends. Feel free to email me at r1971jonesgmail.com and we can set something up!
  2. I've been taking an ASL 1 course at Cleveland State University for a few months now. I'm having trouble switching between ASL and English syntax in my head while I'm signing. I think I'm ready to have some basic conversations. There is an ASL event coming up that I plan to attend. I'm excited and nervous at the same time LOL. As challenging as my schedule is, I hope to attend an ASL event every 2 weeks to immerse myself fully.

If anybody wants to chat, don't hesitate to reach out!

  3. Hello Tammy, I am hearing as well. I just started learning sign language on my own. I am preparing to take an American Sign Language class next semester and want to get a head start. I'm in the Eastern Daylight Time Zone. I would be interested in practicing ASL as we learn together.
  4. Hi Tammy. Hello Richard. I'm new to the site as well. I agree that interaction is a key element to mastering ASL. If there is any level between knowing nothing and being a beginner, that's where I fall on the spectrum. I'm in Eastern Daylight Time zone. My email is [email protected]. Feel free to reach out, and maybe we can set something up
  5. Hello everyone! My name is Ralph, and I'm new to American Sign Language (ASL). I'm excited to connect with all of you and learn more about ASL and Deaf culture. I'm located in the Eastern Daylight Time Zone and am about to start an ASL class soon. I'm eager to practice my skills and would love to hear any tips, resources, or experiences you might want to share. Feel free to email me at [email protected]. 😁
