Grammar query about introducing yourself

When signing 'My name is Vicky', it seems to be: 'name-me-what V-I-C-K-Y'. My question is: does 'what' need to be there? Maybe fluent speakers just say 'Name-me-VICKY'? I'm really interested to know if that is an acceptable abbreviation...
