My name is Kit, I’m 33 and Scottish.
I’m very new to BSL but eager to learn. My step-brother recently had his second child, who has been diagnosed as profoundly deaf. I may not see eye-to-eye with my step-brother and his wife, but I still want to be able to communicate with my nephew some day.
I am also hard of hearing myself, (apologies if that isn’t the correct term) with tinnitus in my right ear that is controlled by a hearing aid. I may someday lose all hearing in that ear, so I would also like to learn BSL for myself too.
