Job Title: In-House BSL Interpreter
We are looking for a qualified British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreter to join our team. This is an in-house role where you will help with communication between our Deaf and hearing staff.
You will mainly work in the office, supporting staff during meetings, training sessions, and day-to-day conversations.
Main Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken English into BSL and BSL into English for staff meetings, presentations, training, and one-to-one chats.
Help Deaf and hearing team members understand each other clearly.
Support communication between Deaf staff and hearing staff across the organisation.
Translate written documents from English into BSL (and vice versa) when needed.
Keep all communication private and confidential.
Stay up to date with best practices and take part in training when possible.
Keep basic records of interpreting work (dates, times, topics, etc.).
