Hello Everyone!
My name is Lauren, I’m 32 and live on the Isle of Wight with my husband and 3 children (ages 10, 8 and 4).
I’m currently studying for a Nursing Associate qualification through an apprenticeship. I don’t know anyone personally who is deaf, but I’m working in paediatrics currently (which is where I’d like to go once I qualify), I met a child who was deaf and no one around me could sign, her parents translated for her. I decided there and then how useful it would be to be able to sign to better support patients who are deaf. I’m really enjoying it so far and wish I had done it a long time ago!
