I received a course to learn BSL for Christmas as last year I thought it would be a good thing to learn. There are so many languages in the world and I have had a go at learning them so have picked up phrases but that was more for holiday reasons, I am learning BSL to give back to others.
My interest in BSL is because there are so many people who have a hearing or speech characteristic but that should not restrict them in any way I am also rejoining the RAF and intend to teach BSL to Service men and women. As an organisation that is less likely to employ people with these characteristics, there is a very limited reason to learn but it can still have a massive benefit for people when they leave or for their families while serving.
