My name is Gerda and I am training to be a vicar (the sign for which I have just learnt 😊). I am a beginner when it comes to BSL - I started taking classes five weeks ago but unfortunately those are now on hold, and because I wanted to keep practising I enrolled on this course.
One of my friends has a Deaf son and they speak NGT - Dutch Sign Language which is quite different from BSL. My lovely BSL teacher is in one of my congregations, and I realised that I wanted to have a conversation with her but did not know anything apart from the sign for 'hello'. That's why I signed up for her course and am now learning BSL online
