I have decided to learn BSL as it has always interested me.  I know that it will be really helpful in my career and also outside of work. I hope that learning BSL will allow me to develop my relationships with children, staff and parents in work. 

Hi everyone, my names Rhiannon and I’m 20 years old! I thought I’d write a little bit about myself! I’ve recently had a little boy who is now 7.5 months, I bought my first house last year and live with my partner and son.  I’m currently on maternity leave but am returning to work soon, in my first job I learned a lot of makaton and I really enjoyed it.  I’m a child development officer and I found having this as a skill has really enhanced my relationships with staff, parents and the children.  I have also applied for a new job which requires me to work in different nurseries, I thought that taking this course would give me some of the experience I’ll need to fulfil this role as it’ll be different environments everywhere I go.
