Hi and question on origins of signs

Hi. Starting level 1 course in Sept but have deaf friends and friends who sign so have learnt a bit along the way. I would really like to know if there is a book, website or resource out there anywhere that explains the origins of each sign?

  Thank you! I'll be enrolling in the online course offered on British Sign. I've not done it yet as I'm currently enrolled in a French course which finishes in 3 weeks. Then, when I'm back in the UK, I'll see how I can step up my learning. I guess there's no substitute for real-life, real-time human practice. Can't wait to get stuck in.
