Hello my name is Justine. I’m 30 years old and have wanted to learn British sign language for as long as I can remember. I do not know anyone who is deaf or hard of hearing but I always felt it was just as important as speaking any language - it is communication, and find it so crazy I was never taught it in school. I feel that this is so important to ensure we are all inclusive of everybody and help break down the barriers in communication in society. I remember experiencing trying to communicate with a client who was deaf some years ago and felt that I should do more to try and communicate. Together we can be more inclusive if we just took the time to learn. Happy learning everybody! Wishing everyone well during these unprecedented times.

      Hi  everyone, this is my first post on the forum.  I work as part of the Front of House Team in a theatre and I am interested in learning some sign language to be able to communicate more easily with the many members of the deaf community who come to the theatre. So far I am doing ok in the comfort of my own home but under pressure I get flustered.  Does anyone else find the same problem? I think a lot is down to constant repetition and practice.

      Hello everyone 🙂 I'm Layne. I am about to take my BSL202 and BSL203 at the start of next week 😬 I luckily passed BSL201 last week 😌 I am based in India so it is tricky to find people to practice with. If anyone is up super early in the UK and looking for someone to converse with I am 5.5 hours ahead so will be around! Thank you 🙏
