Hi everyone!

hope everyone is keeping safe and well in these strange times 😊

Just wanted to introduce myself and what my reason is for starting BSL.
My names Nicola and Like many I wanted to learn a new skill during this last couple of months in and out of lockdown and as my grandma loses her hearing more it got me thinking about why we’re not taught some sign language earlier in our lives to allow us to communicate with all and in case we were to lose our own hearing at some point in our lives. Whilst she might not be able to learn it now I wanted to learn more about sign language as I’ve always been intrigued by it and as I learn it more and more about it, it makes me realise even more now where things should be made more accessible to those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

i would love this to be something that is brought into the education system to ensure a more inclusive society for deaf and herd of hearing!

      Hi  everyone, this is my first post on the forum.  I work as part of the Front of House Team in a theatre and I am interested in learning some sign language to be able to communicate more easily with the many members of the deaf community who come to the theatre. So far I am doing ok in the comfort of my own home but under pressure I get flustered.  Does anyone else find the same problem? I think a lot is down to constant repetition and practice.

      Hello everyone 🙂 I'm Layne. I am about to take my BSL202 and BSL203 at the start of next week 😬 I luckily passed BSL201 last week 😌 I am based in India so it is tricky to find people to practice with. If anyone is up super early in the UK and looking for someone to converse with I am 5.5 hours ahead so will be around! Thank you 🙏
