Hi all! Completely new here. I have just started learning BSL because I am hard of hearing and want a way of making life a bit easier for myself (if my kids ever learn it as well!). Thought it would open me up to meeting new friends that understand me. For years now I have felt like an outsider, my friends and family fed up with me asking them to repeat things- or me just giving up asking because I know it annoys everyone. So I sit in social settings pretending to be following conversations etc. Waiting for my ENT referral to hopefully get hearing aids, but because of Covid the waiting lists are immense. Just saying hi for now- would love to talk with people who will help me practice the BSL I am learning, and teach me more!

      Hi  everyone, this is my first post on the forum.  I work as part of the Front of House Team in a theatre and I am interested in learning some sign language to be able to communicate more easily with the many members of the deaf community who come to the theatre. So far I am doing ok in the comfort of my own home but under pressure I get flustered.  Does anyone else find the same problem? I think a lot is down to constant repetition and practice.

      Hello everyone 🙂 I'm Layne. I am about to take my BSL202 and BSL203 at the start of next week 😬 I luckily passed BSL201 last week 😌 I am based in India so it is tricky to find people to practice with. If anyone is up super early in the UK and looking for someone to converse with I am 5.5 hours ahead so will be around! Thank you 🙏
