My name is Immarni and I’ve always wanted to learn sign language. I think it’s an important life skill to know and wish it was taught in schools.

As I am HoH and even with hearing aids I have difficulty understanding people. So I’m learning to help myself and hopefully I can teach my partner and friends. Hopefully eventually I can find more people like me. 

Hi I’m Ami-May. I am HoH.. severe hearing loss in left ear and profoundly deaf in right ear. I wear hearing aids. I’m learning BSL for myself so I can communicate better with my partner and friends and hopefully they learn along side me. 

Hi ! Iam Karen , I would like to join your forum and possibly work with some other people. I decided to do BSL because I needed to exercise my hand and I wanted to do something that was more interesting than just exercising, and I thought BSL might help me with someone if they were deaf. 

I am now in my 8th week at Remark for my level 2 BSL course and really enjoying it.  I will be attend the Deaf Day at City Lit this Saturday, and it's free; Deaf Day 2026 | London | City Lit .   DJ
