Hi, I'm Jessi, aged 36.

I'm excited to be learning BSL. I was diagnosed with hearing loss in my right ear 2 years ago and will be collecting my first hearing aid in a few weeks time! I've learnt to adapt to not hearing people clearly over this time but it sparked an interest into other ways of communicating if I were to lose hearing in both ears. Everything I am learning through the course, I am teaching to my sons so we can all be equipped to have another mode of communication up our sleeves. Also, being part of a church family, we have new people visiting all the time, and I'd love to be able to warmly welcome anyone from the deaf community if they ever came to visit. I have a lot of learning to do, but I'm thoroughly enjoying the challenge so far!
