Hi,
I'm Kelly and I work near Newcastle 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤 and Durham, supporting people who encounter challenges in their workplaces.

I'm learning sign language to offer extra services to my clients and also because I think BSL should be known and understood by more people. I've tried joining my local support groups online but I haven't had any replies so I thought I might be able to find a few people on here who also need to put their sign language into practice to make it stick in their heads, not just do the course.

I'd like to find people to do a few catch ups on Teams or Zoom, maybe 10-15 minutes each week or fortnight where we can use our signs with each other and hopefully enjoy doing that too! At the moment I'm finding that I need to do each lesson more than once to remind myself of what I've learned before as I'm not using the signs in between my weekly learning time.
Please get in touch if this sounds like you too 🙂

Hi Kelly,

My name is Stacey and I am the same. I am in Surrey and work in healthcare and want to learn BSL for my patients and for me. I have 2 young children who are also interested in learning, so I get to practice with them a little but only when they're in the mood!

Would love to chat and see if we can help each other learn :)

    • Hi  everyone, this is my first post on the forum.  I work as part of the Front of House Team in a theatre and I am interested in learning some sign language to be able to communicate more easily with the many members of the deaf community who come to the theatre. So far I am doing ok in the comfort of my own home but under pressure I get flustered.  Does anyone else find the same problem? I think a lot is down to constant repetition and practice.
    • Hello everyone 🙂 I'm Layne. I am about to take my BSL202 and BSL203 at the start of next week 😬 I luckily passed BSL201 last week 😌 I am based in India so it is tricky to find people to practice with. If anyone is up super early in the UK and looking for someone to converse with I am 5.5 hours ahead so will be around! Thank you 🙏
