Hello, my name is Sofia and I'm currently doing a BSL course online. I'm a childminder and I found that BSL/Makaton can be very beneficial for small children to help them develop their communication or to support them if they can't or find it hard to communicate.

Sign language has always been a passion of mine as in primary school I had deaf friends and learnt some sign language with them. I have a portuguese early years degree with focus on deaf children, so I learnt some portuguese sign language. Unfortunately, like every language, sign language is also different from country to country so I'm very excited to learn some BSL.
