Yes, hello! My name is Ashley, I’m 19 and living in West Sussex. I think there’s a few reasons I’m learning BSL;

1. My interest in linguistics and language learning,

2. To be able to communicate with other people who use it, such as those in the Deaf community, 

3. Because I experience social anxiety, and spoken conversations can sometimes be overwhelming.

I don’t know if I’ll be very active on here, but I thought I’d say hello!

Great to meet you!! I share similar reasons! I love learning about languages, and I'm finding it really interesting learning a visual one as it's so different but I've also found some very interesting similarities with certain aspects!

I don't have social anxiety, but I do get burned out from conversations and the idea of verbal communication can just feel too much after a while, so being able to sign is a massive benefit- but only if other ppl also know it lol😅
