Hello.

I am deaf with CI - I use bsl where I can. I wanted to use Fingerspeller on the bottom of my work email for my name - please can anyone tell me who I get permission from to use this on work email or if have to pay to use on public/work email? Thank you

Hi! Any BSL name generator. I look for one I'm allowed to use on my work email and not sure where to get permission. My work say I have to get written permission from whoever owns the name generator to use on my work email. Any information would be great. Thanks 😊

    • I'm not an expert, but what I have leaned so far with BSL structure, you want to "paint a picture"Ā  1. Time (now, past, future, this week etc)Ā  2. What are you talking aboutĀ  3. Describe itĀ  Ā  Also throw away all the "is, the, an, a" Ā  Example;Ā  Sing (I) love, Jazz favourite. Sometimes (I) perform, extra money earn. Saxophone (I) play and piano my hobby.Ā  Ā  Keep it short and clear Someone said, think about it like "baby Yoda" talk, it does help to get the sentences right. šŸ‘ Ā
    • Hi Ash, nice to meet you. Beginner learner here, although I know a little BSL already from having a deaf cousin
    • Hi everyone. My name is Tom and I'm 40yrs old. I've started to learn BSL so I can communicate with my cousin who is Deaf. I know a little already but am about to start level 1 in a couple of weeks. If anyone would like to chat or practice get in touch

    • Hello everyone! Ā  I'm Natalia, I'm currently doing LVL2 BSL and looking for people to practice with.Ā  Ā  I started to learn BSL after meeting a profoundly deaf student (I'm a driving instructor) and I (and He) didn't like to communicate via messages or speech to text apps.Ā  Ā  I found BSL was better way to communicate, gave more confidence to my student and since then I found, I really enjoy to learn more. Ā  Hopefully with more time and effort I can become fluent in the future.Ā
    • Hello, My name is Anna, I'm 22. I've started learning BSL out of my own leisure (for lack of a better explanation)
    • Hiya, my name's Ash and I've wanted to learn BSL for years now and after looking up random signs on the internet I thought doing a proper course sounded good so I started a beginners course. I am not deaf myself but I am also known for my questionable hearing as I sometimes find it tough to hear what others are saying, especially in a loud area, I also have a deaf grandmother but she does not sign. I've always enjoyed using non verbal forms of communication as sometimes I find it a bit tough to express myself verbally, being neurodivergent. I hope to be able to use this to practice with people and talk to people who also want to learn as there are no in person groups anywhere near me, living in a very rural part of Britain. Nice to meet you all
    • Oh no! I appear to have accidentally made a new topic? I couldn’t see any other way to say hello. Apologies 🤭
