ive been learning BSL since I was 11 and when I went to uni I thought there would be a BSL society.... there was not, so im here instead

      I'm autistic and, though I generally have little issue using spoken languages, I find myself looking for an alternative that might feel more comfortable and be more accessible to me during verbal shutdowns. Furthermore, BSL will allow me to connect with more people in the disabled community and other communities I am a part of, which I really value.

      Hi everyone i am 17 and learning BSL. I have started learning sign language as I feel it was unfortunate for it not to be offered to anyone in secondary school. I have heard discussions of it being introduced which i believed to be unfortunately too late. I then decided I wanted to learn now. I believe it would be great to be able to communicate with more people. I currently do not know where to go to find someone to practice with in person. I feel like my want to potentially work in sports coaching it is important to be able to communicate with as many people as possible. I do also know that my Mom felt learning bsl to be important as she did attempt to start teaching me when I was little. Unfortunately that did not continue so I stopped and only knew the alphabet -lexi

      Hi, I'm Hayley. I've just recently started a BSL course. I remember learning the alphabet and a couple of basic words back in school years ago, and I've always wanted to learn. I have the time now, so I thought I would give it a go. I'm always keen to learn and I work in retail, so it may well come in handy to know a little at least!  Whenever I've learned languages in the past, I've always been better at understanding it, rather than being able to actually speak it. So, hopefully, I can glean an understanding at least. Anyway, hello, everyone =]
