Hi, my name is Carolina and I've just starting learning British Sign Language. I'm from Ireland and have a very basic knowledge of Irish Sign Language and Lámh (the Irish equivalent of Makaton) but I'm planning to move to the UK in the next few months so I'd like to learn some BSL. I've just qualified as an occupational therapist so I'm interested in knowing how to sign for the benefit of any clients I might be working with in the future who use BSL, as well as just for the challenge of learning something new. I've only just finished the first lesson of the introductory online BSL course so I'm still practising my fingerspelling (see video of me attempting to spell my name!) but I hope in the next few weeks to have enough of a vocabulary to start practising with people here 😁

      Hi  everyone, this is my first post on the forum.  I work as part of the Front of House Team in a theatre and I am interested in learning some sign language to be able to communicate more easily with the many members of the deaf community who come to the theatre. So far I am doing ok in the comfort of my own home but under pressure I get flustered.  Does anyone else find the same problem? I think a lot is down to constant repetition and practice.

      Hello everyone 🙂 I'm Layne. I am about to take my BSL202 and BSL203 at the start of next week 😬 I luckily passed BSL201 last week 😌 I am based in India so it is tricky to find people to practice with. If anyone is up super early in the UK and looking for someone to converse with I am 5.5 hours ahead so will be around! Thank you 🙏
