My name is Tammy and I am in a relationship with a deaf person who reads lips very well, I have been trying to  learn sign but I  really need to  interact  to get it down.. I am a beginner but have been studying alot and doing videos and apps.. I am hoping to  be able to  get some interaction  in the deaf community or w others that are learning as well.

Hi Tammy. Hello Richard. I'm new to the site as well. I agree that interaction is a key element to mastering ASL. If there is any level between knowing nothing and being a beginner, that's where I fall on the spectrum. I'm in Eastern Daylight Time zone. My email is [email protected].       How'd y'all, my name is James, but generally I go by JE. I am a deaf / hard of hearing individual in New York State. I was raised in an oral school and home, it was hard but I learned. I didn't even know now ASL, or schools for the Deaf existed until I was in my 20's. I am a mechanic by profession and work in an industrial laundry. I have self-taught myself ASL, but don't get much chance to utilize or practice it. I am hoping that will all change here. I look forward to learning and growing here, if you know of any other deaf chat platforms please do share. God Bless you all!
