Karen W Posted June 24, 2025 Report Posted June 24, 2025 My name is Karen and I am hearing. I've been around deaf and hard of hearing people all of my life. My parents were both interpreters and they instilled in us the language and love for DHH people. I'm currently an instructional specialist in a public school district. I am the lead specialist for the DHH programs in our buildings. I've recently recognize that my vocabulary is "old". Apparently many of the signs that I have used all of my life have changed somewhat. So I am planning on spending my summer learning the "new" vocabulary and practicing it so that I can be more prepared for our students in the fall.
