I'm learning BSL because I work with a very wide and varied community of people on a regular basis and often have encountered D/deaf customers. I want to be able to give 100% to all the customers I interact with/volunteer with and by learning BSL I can actively be more inclusive. I also seek to represent marginalised groups in my creative writing, and I want to be accurate with how I incorporate sign language in my work.

Hi my name is Zoe, By day I work part time as a Library Assistant, by night I'm an aspiring writer! As Library staff, my job is very community based, and I also volunteer with youth groups, and various creative programmes in my community. As a writer I am fascinated by languages in general, but I want to learn BSL because I want to be more inclusive with the communities that I work with.
