Hello. I work at Leeds General Infirmary and I have just started the BSL course. I am a recent graduate from the University of Manchester and during my time there, I wanted to learn British sign language, however I never did it. I have worked with patients who are deaf and use BSL since working in the hospital and I decided I would start a course and learn sign language so that hopefully I can communicate better with patients and help them feel more supported and satisfied with their care. I believe in doing so and encouraging my colleagues to learn as well, we can create a more inclusive environment.
